1. Our Quality Commitment
At Trisis Leather, quality is not considered a final-stage inspection activity. It is a controlled process that begins with understanding the customer’s requirements and continues through material sourcing, product development, sampling, production, finishing, inspection, packaging and shipment.
Our objective is to deliver leather apparel that consistently meets approved specifications, approved samples, customer-approved materials, required measurements and tolerances, construction and workmanship standards, color and appearance requirements, hardware and accessory specifications, labeling and packaging requirements, and applicable customer-specific quality standards.
Every order is treated according to its individual specifications. We do not consider a product acceptable simply because it looks good visually; it must also comply with the agreed technical and commercial requirements.
2. Our Quality Control Philosophy
Prevention — We aim to prevent defects before they occur rather than discovering them at the end.
Standardization — Production is carried out against approved specifications, patterns, measurements, samples and workmanship standards.
Traceability — Materials, samples, production batches and inspections are documented wherever applicable.
Multiple Inspection Points — Quality is checked at different stages instead of relying solely on final inspection.
Customer Approval — Where required, production proceeds only after the relevant sample, material, color or specification has been approved by the customer.
3. Quality Control Process — From Order to Shipment
Customer Requirements → Technical Review → Material Approval → Sample Development → Pre-Production Approval → Incoming Material Inspection → Cutting Inspection → In-Line Production QC → Finishing Inspection → Final Inspection → Packing Inspection → Shipment Release.
4. Stage 1 — Customer Requirement & Specification Review
Before production begins, our team reviews the customer’s requirements in detail. This may include product images, tech pack, measurements, size specifications, leather type, leather thickness, leather color, leather finish, lining specification, hardware, zippers, buttons/snaps, thread, labels, embroidery/printing, logo requirements, packaging, carton requirements, folding instructions, country-specific requirements and customer-specific QC standards.
Quality Control Objective: To ensure that there is one clearly defined production standard before manufacturing begins. Any unclear or conflicting specification is discussed with the customer before production rather than being interpreted incorrectly during manufacturing.
5. Stage 2 — Technical & Product Development Review
The technical/product-development team reviews construction before sampling, including pattern construction, panel configuration, seam construction, pocket construction, collar construction, sleeve construction, cuff construction, zipper placement, hardware placement, lining construction, reinforcement points, measurement points and grading between sizes.
If a potential manufacturing or construction problem is identified, we communicate it to the customer and recommend an appropriate solution.
6. Stage 3 — Leather Quality Inspection
Leather is one of the most important components of a leather jacket and therefore receives special attention.
Visual checks may include leather grain, natural characteristics, surface appearance, color consistency, finish consistency, texture, softness, wrinkles, scars, veins, insect marks, holes, scratches, excessive grain variation and uneven finishing.
Where applicable and agreed, technical checks may include thickness, color, hand feel, tear strength, tensile strength, color fastness, flexing performance, finish adhesion and other required laboratory parameters.
The acceptance criteria depend on the customer’s specification and the agreed leather standard. Natural leather is a genuine material and may contain natural characteristics; such characteristics are assessed according to the approved leather quality standard/sample.
7. Leather Shade & Color Control
For dyed leather, maintaining shade consistency is particularly important. We control the approved color standard, bulk leather shade, panel-to-panel consistency, batch-to-batch variation, surface finish and gloss/matte appearance.
Where a customer provides a physical color standard or approved sample, it becomes the primary reference for production. Minor natural variation in genuine leather is not automatically considered a defect; acceptance is based on the agreed leather quality and appearance standard.
8. Stage 4 — Trims & Accessories Inspection
All major components are checked before entering production, including zippers, snaps, buttons, buckles, rivets, eyelets, thread, lining, labels, woven labels, main labels, care labels, hangtags and packaging materials.
We verify correct specification, color, quantity, size, branding, functional performance and visual condition. For branded hardware, the approved supplier/specification is used wherever specified by the customer.
9. Stage 5 — Sample Development & Approval
Before bulk production, the product follows the agreed sample-development process.
Proto Sample — Used to verify initial design and construction.
Fit Sample — Used to evaluate fit, measurements, proportion, sleeve length, body length, collar, pocket position and overall appearance.
Pre-Production Sample (PP Sample) — Used to confirm final materials, final color, construction, measurements, hardware, labels, workmanship and packaging requirements where applicable.
Bulk production should proceed against the approved sample/specification.
10. Golden Sample / Approved Sample System
Once the customer approves the final sample, the approved sample becomes the primary physical reference for production.
It is used to compare appearance, construction, measurements, leather, color, hardware, stitching, labels and finishing. Where appropriate, an approved sample is retained as a reference sample for production and QC.
11. Stage 6 — Cutting Quality Control
Cutting QC checks the correct pattern, correct size, correct panel, correct leather, leather grain direction where applicable, defect avoidance, panel matching where required, symmetry, notches, cutting accuracy, panel identification and quantity.
12. Leather Defect Management During Cutting
Where the customer’s quality standard requires premium leather, major visible defects are avoided in prominent garment areas. Depending on the agreed standard, front body, collar, sleeves and pocket flaps receive particular attention.
Natural leather characteristics may be acceptable when they fall within the approved leather standard.
13. Stage 7 — In-Line Quality Control
Quality inspection does not wait until the jacket is completed. Production QC monitors garments during manufacturing.
Sewing checks include seam alignment, stitch consistency, stitch density, seam allowance, thread tension, skipped stitches, broken stitches, loose threads, uneven stitching and seam puckering.
Construction checks include correct panel assembly, pocket position, collar attachment, sleeve attachment, cuff construction, lining attachment, zipper installation and hardware placement.
Appearance checks include symmetry, panel alignment, color consistency, surface condition and overall workmanship.
Defects identified during production should be corrected before the garment proceeds to the next stage whenever practical.
14. Critical Workmanship Controls
Particular attention is given to main zippers, pocket zippers, sleeve zippers, collar attachment, shoulder seams, armholes, side seams, cuffs, pocket attachment, hardware attachment and other stress points.
The objective is not merely to produce a jacket that looks good but to produce a garment capable of performing as intended under normal use.
15. Measurement Quality Control
Finished garments are checked against the approved measurement specification. Depending on the product, measurements may include chest, bottom, shoulder, sleeve length, body length, across back, armhole, bicep, cuff, collar, pocket position and pocket opening.
Measurements are checked according to the agreed tolerance. Example: if Chest is 55 cm ± 1 cm, the normal acceptable range is 54–56 cm unless the customer has specified a different tolerance.
16. Size & Grading Control
For multiple-size orders, we verify that the correct pattern is used, the correct size label is attached, measurements correspond to the correct size, grading follows the approved specification and size-specific components are correctly assigned.
17. Stage 8 — Finishing Quality Control
After sewing, garments proceed through finishing. Inspection may include thread trimming, cleaning, surface cleaning, pressing where appropriate, lining inspection, zipper operation, hardware inspection, label inspection, shape and appearance and folding.
Particular attention is given to removing loose threads, stains, marks and production residues.
18. Zipper & Hardware Functional Testing
Zippers and hardware are evaluated visually and functionally. We check smooth zipper operation, correct zipper installation, slider movement, zipper alignment, snap/button functionality, hardware attachment and scratches or unacceptable surface damage.
19. Stage 9 — Final Quality Inspection
Final inspection is performed after production and finishing but before shipment.
Product Identity: Correct style, color, size and labels.
Leather: Correct leather, color, acceptable appearance and no unacceptable major defects.
Construction: Correct assembly, seams, pockets, collar, sleeves and lining.
Measurements: Key measurements within agreed tolerance.
Workmanship: Stitch quality, seam quality, loose threads, symmetry and overall appearance.
Function: Zippers, snaps, buttons and hardware.
Branding: Labels, logos, tags and embroidery/printing where applicable.
Packaging: Individual packing, size stickers, carton quantity and carton markings.
20. AQL Inspection
Where required by the customer, Trisis Leather can conduct final inspection according to an agreed AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) standard.
The inspection level and AQL limits should be agreed before production. Example only: General Inspection Level II; Critical Defects 0; Major Defects AQL 2.5; Minor Defects AQL 4.0.
These figures are examples only. The actual AQL standard will be based on the customer’s requirement or mutually agreed inspection standard.
21. Defect Classification
Critical Defect — A defect that could create a serious safety, regulatory or fundamental product-compliance issue. Acceptance: zero tolerance unless otherwise legally or contractually permitted.
Major Defect — A defect that materially affects appearance, function, durability, fit, construction or customer usability. Examples include wrong leather, wrong color, significant measurement deviation, broken zipper, major stitching failure, wrong size or major panel/construction error.
Minor Defect — A relatively small deviation that does not materially affect product function or overall appearance, such as a minor loose thread or small non-prominent workmanship issue.
Classification is ultimately based on the agreed customer standard.
22. Non-Conforming Product Control
If a product does not meet agreed specifications, it is identified and separated from conforming production. Depending on the nature of the defect, the product may be repaired, reworked, re-inspected, rejected or replaced.
A repaired or reworked garment is not automatically considered passed; it must be inspected again.
23. Root Cause & Corrective Action
For recurring or significant quality issues, Trisis Leather aims to identify the root cause rather than simply repairing individual pieces.
Possible root causes include incorrect pattern, incorrect material, cutting error, sewing method, machine setting, operator error, incorrect specification, incorrect component or finishing issue.
Corrective actions may include pattern correction, process adjustment, operator instruction, additional QC checkpoint, material replacement, supplier corrective action or increased inspection frequency.
24. Packaging Quality Control
Before shipment, packaging is inspected to ensure that products reach the customer in the agreed condition.
Checks may include correct folding, polybag, size sticker, SKU/style information, labels, carton quantity, carton markings, carton condition and protection against moisture/dust where required.
Customer-specific packing instructions are followed where provided.
25. Shipment Release
Finished goods are released for shipment only after the agreed quality-control requirements have been completed.
Where required, shipment documentation may include final inspection report, packing list, commercial invoice, other agreed documentation and photos of finished goods.
For customers requiring independent inspection, Trisis Leather can coordinate with the customer’s nominated inspection company, subject to the agreed commercial arrangement.
26. Customer-Specific Quality Standards
We understand that different brands have different quality expectations. Trisis Leather can work according to the customer’s own QC manual, tech pack, approved sample, brand-specific workmanship standards, AQL requirements, measurement standards, packaging standards, material specifications and third-party inspection requirements.
The customer’s approved specifications become part of the production reference.
27. Quality Documentation & Traceability
Where applicable, we maintain documentation relating to purchase/order specifications, approved samples, material specifications, production quantities, inspection results, defect records, corrective actions and final shipment quantities.
This allows problems to be investigated and corrected systematically.
28. Supplier & Factory Quality Control
For outsourced or partner production, Trisis Leather does not simply transfer responsibility for quality to the manufacturing facility.
Our responsibility remains to ensure that production follows the customer’s approved specifications. We therefore use controlled manufacturing partners based on manufacturing capability, leather apparel experience, workmanship, production capacity, quality performance, compliance with required standards and ability to meet customer specifications.
Trisis Leather maintains oversight of product development, specifications and QC requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
29. Quality Control of New Suppliers
Before a new manufacturing partner is approved, we evaluate relevant capabilities such as product expertise, machinery, skilled workforce, sample development capability, production capacity, quality systems and ability to meet delivery requirements.
Where appropriate, trial production or sample production is completed before assigning larger production programs.
30. Customer Communication During Production
We believe quality also depends on communication. If an issue is identified that could materially affect quality, cost, delivery, material availability, construction or appearance, we communicate the issue and proposed solution before proceeding wherever practical.
We do not intentionally make major specification changes without customer approval.
31. Customer Inspection & Transparency
Customers are welcome to establish their own inspection requirements. Depending on the order and commercial arrangement, customers may review samples, approve materials, approve PP samples, review production photos/videos, conduct remote inspections, appoint third-party inspection companies or conduct pre-shipment inspection.
Our objective is to make the production process transparent and measurable.
32. Customer Complaint & Claims Procedure
If a customer identifies a quality issue after receiving an order, the customer should provide the order/PO reference, style/SKU, quantity affected, description of issue, photographs/videos where appropriate, relevant measurements or evidence and batch/carton information where available.
Our team will investigate the claim against approved specifications, approved sample, production records, inspection records and the customer’s agreed quality standards.
Where a genuine manufacturing non-conformity is confirmed, we will work with the customer toward an appropriate corrective solution.
33. Continuous Improvement
Our QC system is continuously reviewed. We use quality findings to improve product development, pattern making, material sourcing, production processes, factory selection, inspection procedures, employee training and supplier performance.
Our goal is not simply to maintain quality but to continuously reduce defects and improve consistency.
